Sunday morning classes are 9:45 a.m. every Sunday. We have many different classes that offer ways to grow in your spiritual life.
Covenant: Meets in the Congregation House at 9:45 in room B . March 2 and 9: The Art of Pilgrimage. March 16, 23 and 30: Religion and Law.
Jubilee: Meets in room 116 (the Student Center). Continuing in March - Discussions centered around problems of social justice.
Maloney: Meets in the DCPC parlor. A Bible study class led by Dr. Russell Mase and others. The class looks closely at the depth and breadth of scripture. March 2– An Eternal Kingdom. 2 Samuel 7: 4-16. March 9– Son of David. Psalm 89:35-37; Isaiah 9:6-7; Matthew 1: 18 -21. March 16– Peter’s Report. Psalm 110:1-4; Acts 2: 22-24, 29-32 March 23– Worthy Is the Lamb. Revelation 5:6 -13 March 30– Triumphant and Victorious. Zechariah 9: 9; Matthew 21:1—11
The Pines: Meets in the Marshall Room at The Pines at Davidson. Topic parallells Maloney class above.
Faith Talk. Meets in the church library. Discussion-oriented group revolving around faith-based stories and acts of inspiration.
Faith and Family:Room 201. March 9th: We begin our Lenten Study – "Give Up Something BAD for Lent," by James W. Moore. Each week Moore takes us through scripture which invites us to give up those things which keep us from a close and faithful walk with Jesus Christ. March 16th: “Give Up Harsh, Condemning Judgments for Lent.” Matthew 7: 1-5. March 23rd: “Give Up the Enemies Within for Lent.” Luke 11: 37-52. March 30th: “Give Up Running Away for Lent. ” Luke 9: 10-17. Bring your children to Sunday school and then find a class that feeds you. Mid-week and small group opportunities are offered at different times throughout the week and at different times of the year. Some groups are on-going, while others meet for a set period of time.
Presbyterian Men: There are several ongoing opportunities for men to gather for fellowship and nurture.
o Tuesday mornings at 8 a.m. in the Parlor, the Brindisi Men’s Group gathers for study and prayer.
o Friday mornings, men gather at the Village Inn Conference Room at 7 a.m.
o Once a month, on the first Friday, a group of men meets at The Cook House in Cornelius at 7 a.m. for breakfast and discussion. There are different discussion leaders each month.
Presbyterian Women: Small groups called ‘circles’ gather once a month for fellowship, service, and study.
Disciple Bible Study: These small groups form community and are a committed 32 week study that leads to discipleship.
Shalom Bible Study, Mondays, 9:30 am: Shalom Study, room 208. Currently using Companions in Christ: A spiritual formation study. This is a group of women who covenant to meet each week. Childcare is provided.
Earth Care: Our Earth Care group provides special speakers, topics, and projects through out the year helping us to link discipleship with stewardship of all of creation.
Theology on Tap: An informal theological discussion group led by Dr. Doug Ottati and Dr. Matt Samson. NEW LOCATION!! Gabi’s Coffee Shop on Catawba Ave in Cornelius (right next to Food Lion). Lively conversation and discussion. The group meets each Thursday at 5:30 pm. Bring your Bible, an open mind and your friends.
Beloved Community Book Group: This book group with our sister church, Davidson Presbyterian Church, meets most fourth Wednesdays at Davidson Presbyterian.
Women's Book Club: Meets on Monday nights, once a month, at member's homes.
Wednesday Night Live: Join us then at 5:45 for food, fellowship and worship. Childcare is provided.Register with the link in the column on the bottom left of our main page.
Gathering Around the Word: This program provides an opportunity to discuss the lectionary scriptures with Rev. McGregor Simmons both before and after they are used in sermons. Meets Wednesday nights in the Parlor at 5:00.
Church Retreats Occur on different occasions throughout the year.
Children with Special Needs Support Group: All parents, grandparents, and friends of children with any special needs are invited to join us.
