Jubilee: Meets in room 116 (the Student Center). Jubilee is studying our prison system during the month of October and raising questions about the Christian’s responsibility towards the six million in our country who are inside walls, on probation or parole. We are looking at Adam Gopnik’s essay, “The Caging of America.” On October 26th, Webb Hubbell, former Associate Attorney General of the U.S., will speak on our criminal justice system, the inhumanity of soli-tary confinement and other issues, including his prison ministry with those who are trying to regain their footing in society.

Maloney: Meets in the Parlor. October 5- Rejoice Anyway, Habakkuk 2:1-5; 3:17-19. October 12– Even So, My Redeemer Lives, Job 19:1-7, 23-29. October 19- Hope Complains, Job 24:1, 9-12, 19-25. October 26– Hope Satisfies, Job 42:1-10.

The Pines: Meets in the Marshall Room at The Pines at Davidson. Follows schedule of Maloney class (see above).

Faith Talk.  Meets in the church library. Discussion-oriented group revolving around faith-based stories and acts of inspiration. Not meeting during the summer.

Faith and Family: Room 201. Join us as we welcome Nancy Barkemeyer who will be wrapping up our 6-week series entitled “Listen: Praying in a Noisy World.” How do we carve out time for prayer amidst all modern life's distractions, and what does it look like to take time to “be still” long enough to pray and listen to God?  October 5 "Everyone Needs Help." October 12 “Flying Solo." Mid-week and small group opportunities are offered at different times throughout the week and at different times of the year. Some groups are on-going, while others meet for a set period of time.

Presbyterian Men: There are several ongoing opportunities for men to gather for fellowship and nurture.

o Tuesday mornings at 8 a.m. in the Parlor, the Brindisi Men’s Group gathers for study and prayer.

o Friday mornings, at 7 a.m. at the Village Inn Conference Room.

o Once a month, on the first Friday, a group meets at The Cook House in Cornelius at 7 a.m. for breakfast and discussion. There are different discussion leaders each month.

Presbyterian Women: Small groups called ‘circles’ gather once a month for fellowship, service, and study.

Disciple Bible Study: These small groups form community and are a committed 32 week study that leads to discipleship.

Shalom Bible Study, Mondays, 9:30 am: Shalom Study, room 208. Currently using Companions in Christ: A spiritual formation study. This is a group of women who covenant to meet each week. Childcare is provided.

Earth Care: Our Earth Care group provides special speakers, topics, and projects through out the year helping us to link discipleship with stewardship of all of creation.

Theology on Tap: An informal theological discussion group led by Dr. Doug Ottati and Dr. Matt Samson. NEW LOCATION!!  Gabi’s Coffee Shop on Catawba Ave in Cornelius (right next to Food Lion). Lively conversation and discussion. The group meets each Thursday at 5:30 pm. Bring your Bible, an open mind and your friends.

Beloved Community Book Group: This book group with our sister church, Davidson Presbyterian Church, meets most fourth Wednesdays at Davidson Presbyterian.

Women's Book Club:  Meets on Monday nights, once a month, at member's homes.

Wednesday Night Live: Join us then at 5:45 for food, fellowship and worship. Childcare is provided.Register with the link in the column on the bottom left of our main page.

Gathering Around the Word: This program provides an opportunity to discuss the lectionary scriptures with Rev. McGregor Simmons both before and after they are used in sermons. Meets Wednesday nights in the Parlor at 5:00.   

Church Retreats  Occur on different occasions throughout the year. 

Children with Special Needs Support Group: All parents, grandparents, and friends of children with any special needs are invited to join us.
