DCPC Day of Service 2012
We all get by with a little help from our friends…..
A kind word, some leaves raked, flowers planted, a torn screen repaired, a card sent, a meal served - each one a small task yet so meaningful to someone in need.
On Saturday, November 3rd, for our 9th annual Day of Service, we have the opportunity to go out in the community to do just that and more. And speaking of friends, we will partner with some of our friends from DUMC. (We’ll have the opportunity to help them in the spring.)
You can CLICK HERE to print out a volunteer form for families or multiple participants, and drop it off at your church office. For individuals, click here to register online. You may also pick up the same form from our Day of Service bulletin board. And feel free to bring a friend to help too!
Last year over 220 volunteers participated! They hammered and scrubbed, painted and dug, raked and baked and folded ….well – you get the idea. For this year’s event to be another success, we need all kinds of people: skilled and unskilled workers, new members and church officers, retired people and college students, single people and families – even kids!
Child care will be provided for children under the age of 6. Children age 6 and over are welcome to work on projects with their parents. We hope to see you there – but if you can’t make it, we’ll take a donation to defray the cost of materials for the projects.
