Community Mission

DCPC has a strong presence in our area with regards to local mission, as members seek to live out their faith by helping those in need in their community.

Community agencies that wish to submit a benevolence application may click here to complete the online application. The deadline is July 25, 2010. 

If you are looking for a way to get plugged into missions right away, consider one of these regularly occurring volunteer opportunities.

Lydia's Loft:  Volunteers sort donations of clothing and household items and help customers. Lydia's Loft is located in Huntersville. Contact Beverly Clayton (704-892-6942) or Rita Mashburn (704-875-3760)  

 

Loaves and Fishes: Volunteers bag groceries for clients on Wednesday afternoons or Friday mornings. Located at the Ada Jenkins Center. Contact Sondra Rudy or Priscilla Perkins.  

 

Ada Jenkins After School Program:  Tutors for elementary school students are needed for weekday afternoons. Contact Ebony Harley or Jessica Rossini (704-896-0471). 

 

Mooresville Soup Kitchen: DCPC members serve meals on the fourth Wednesday of the month at the First Baptist Church of Mooresville. Contact Margaret Martens. 

 

Amigos de Cristo:  Tutors for Latino elementary school students weekday afternoons at Huntersville Presbyterian Church. Spanish speaking ability is not a requirement. Contact Sherri Washam.                      

 

RAIN:  Volunteers provide transportation for local AIDS patients.  Contact Shelli Latham. 

 

Ada Jenkins Free Medical Clinic: work as an assistant on Thursday evenings. Contact Kay Newsom.
