Organ at Davidson Press Release

We are proud to announce the fourteenth season of Organ at Davidson, with the opening concert played by Dr. Andrew Scanlon on September 16. A varied offering is planned for the season, including some of the finest Baroque violinists in the country, part of the NC Baroque Orchestra; Clara Gerdes, Davidson resident, Curtis Institute of Music graduate, multiple award-winner and Rising Star of the American Guild of Organists; a brother-sister duet with international concert organist Jonathan Dimmock and his sister Jane; some choral music with organ by the Choral Arts Society of Davidson; and the ever-popular Bach Birthday Bash, played this year by Dr. Joe Causby. Concerts are free, with donations supporting the series, and are followed by a reception.

The Organ at Davidson series attracts listeners from all over the area, from Charlotte to Statesville. It is a wonderful musical outreach for our church, and a means of sharing great organ music played on a beautiful instrument. We are grateful to the many people who support the series with their donations, and to the faithful Friends of the Organ who plan lovely receptions.
