Davidson College Presbyterian Church's Music Ministry is offering four steel pan workshops. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about this beautiful instrument and have a lot of fun. Whether you call yourself a musician or not, everyone can play the steel pans!

Sunday's classes will be taught by Diana Loomer and Morgan Tao. Dr. Diana Loomer is an active percussionist and music educator, currently teaching and performing in the Asheville, NC, area. In addition to her private lesson studio, she is the director of the "Steely Pan Steel Band" at Appalachian State University and also a percussion instructor at Western Carolina University. Morgan Tao is currently a freelance performer and teacher in several programs across North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He has a M.M. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where he was a Teaching Assistant and taught the UT Steel Band. He holds a B.A. in Music Studies with a performance certificate from the University of Texas at Austin.
