DCPC is involved in many projects across the Charlotte area and in projects as far away as Kenya. Whatever your skills, resources, or physical abilities, your help is needed! Day of Service is coming up
on November 9
Join us as we put love into action (1 John 3:18) by serving others in our community. We need lots of people to help us complete over 20 projects. We also need Project Leaders. AMIGOS DE CRISTO – our Tutoring Ministry with ESL Students at Huntersville Elementary meets every Tuesday afternoon from 3:15 – 4:15 when CMS is in session. This will primarily focus on strengthening reading and speaking ability in elementary students. Classroom Helpers and Math Tutors
As we celebrate our 10th year in partnership with Blythe Elementary School, we are excited to increase the number of DCPC members who volunteer regularly at the school. These two opportunities, Classroom Helpers and Heart Math Tutors will allow members to make a huge impact on the lives of children and teachers. DCPC’s Green Group would like to invite you to consider a variety of creative ways to help care for creation during 2026. Flash Mob Mission Is Back
FLASH MOB MISSION is a last minute call for members to show up and help out for a project in the community. It could be helping someone move, picking up trash, completing a landscaping project, painting, or a simple building project. The notice will come out via REALM and if you are available just show up ready to pitch in. Be on the lookout for opportunities.
The Davidson Career Transition Program

The Davidson Career Transition Program is a joint ministry of Davidson United Methodist Church (DUMC) and Davidson College Presbyterian Church (DCPC) to provide job search support for anyone who needs it (including but not limited to the congregation members of either church). The program holds workshops on the first Wednesday of each month, with the exception of July, in Room 216/218 of the Alexander Education Building of DUMC. The workshops are from 10:00 a.m. – noon, with optional time for networking beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The program is staffed with retired and semi-retired volunteers who provide coaching on career strategies, networking, resumes, interviewing, and offer negotiations. This is provided in the monthly workshops as well as via one-to-one interaction with the volunteers. The program also has third party speakers with relevant experience (placement groups for example). It however is not a placement service, nor does it maintain a job posting board. If you would like to learn more, please contact Gail Spach at DUMC at gspach@davidsonumc.org.

Volunteer with a community partner
DCPC supports several mission partners in our Charlotte area. All of them depend on volunteers to serve our community. The Community Missions Committee publishes a booklet that describes each agency and gives information about how you can volunteer.
