Worship With Us

SanctuaryJEC_2140m.jpg

Worship is central to our lives as Christians.   In worship we experience the love of God and offer ourselves back to God in praise and thanksgiving.   We invite you to join us on Sunday mornings at 8:45 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. for a traditional service or at 9:45 a.m. for an informal service.

Our worship times and locations will vary throughout the month of May.  They are as follows:

May 1- One service of worship at 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary

May 8- Confirmation Sunday.  Formal worship at 8:45 in Lingle Chapel and 11:00 a.m. in the Sanctuary. Informal worship at 9:45 in the Congregation House

May 15- Formal worship at 8:45 in the Sanctuary.  Outdoor worship at 10:30 a.m. at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson (212 Gamble Street).  Bring your own chairs and blankets!

May 22- Formal worship at 8:45 in the Sanctuary.  Outdoor worship at 10:30 a.m. at the Ada Jenkins Center in Davidson (212 Gamble Street).  Bring your own chairs and blankets!

What To Expect

Both our traditional and informal worship services are based on the historic liturgy of the church.   The traditional services at 8:45 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. use music from many eras, ancient to modern.   Congregational singing is usually accompanied by the Wicks or the Ott organs.  The informal 9:45 a.m. service uses primarily modern era music from a variety of cultures.   Congregational singing is led by a small band and lead singers.  Dress is more informal at the 9:45 a.m. service.
