The Mission and Vision for DCPC Youth
DCPC Youth is a community of youth and adult leaders committed to pursuing an authentic faith in Jesus Christ together. Authentic faith means trusting Jesus in a way that transforms how I love God, myself, and the rest of the world.
Our Mission
Love God. Love others. Love life.
Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'” -Matthew 22:37-38

Our Vision
Worship God. Follow Christ. Do good.
A balanced life for a Christ follower includes all of the above as we live out our mission of loving God, loving others, and loving self.

Our Values
Love
All of our relationships, with God, others, and ourselves, are built on unconditional love.

Joy
We go about the work of our ministry with Christ’s joy, a joy that is complete.

Affirmation
We affirm the image of God in everyone in our ministry and accept them for who they are.

Challenge
We challenge everyone to become the person that God made them to be.

Portrait of a DCPC Youth Graduate
One of the parenting principles from the book Parenting Beyond Your Capacity is “imagine the end.” When parents imagine the end, they think forward to graduation day and what they hope for their child: their character, their path into adulthood, their values, their experiences, their hopes, and more. This then shapes how we parent when we know what we’re parenting towards. A couple years ago, leadership of our youth committee went on a similar exercise to “imagine the end” for the students that come through DCPC Youth: what are we hoping for them after seven years of youth ministry? Here’s what we came up with:

A graduate of DCPC Youth ministry will be equipped for a lifetime of following Jesus.
